Industry Contributions to the Work of the K20 CenterThe center’s knowledge base in educational technology would not be possible without the many contributions by manufacturers and vendors. Click here to view our list of contributors. As we work with learning communities and make recommendations for technologies that can enhance the learning process, we understand the necessity for hands-on, extended experience with the technologies. Our recommendations are based largely on our direct experience with the technologies, as well as the collective opinions of teachers and adminitrators within our network. We have several opportunities to directly showcase technologies:

  • In all of our professional development opportunites, presentations, and assistance to learning communities we believe in modeling the use of a wide range of technologies that enhance teaching and learning.
  • We specifically showcase learning technologies that we have found useful in a variety of learning communities through our Leadership Seminars for Principals and School Administrators.
  • We invite manufacturers and vendors of technologies we feel specifically strengthen the framework of the K20 Center to our yearly Winter Institute to showcase their technologies through a vendor booth and an opportunity to work with a school that has used the technology in providing a workshop.
  • Our new center, to be opened in Spring 2007, will provide opportunities for visiting state, national, and international educational reprsentatives, workshop participants, and University faculty and administrators to experience learning center technologies first-hand.

While we have found a few technologies that can enhance authentic teaching and learning in almost all learning environments, in our work across a wide variety of learning communities we have found just about any technology can have a role somewhere in a learning environment. The center welcomes formal and informal opportunites to evaulate and use educational technologies.
