Vicki Medlin
Vicki Medlin is a Science Project Specialist providing professional development and support in science and technology for the elementary schools in Ardmore, OK.
Before coming to the K20 Center, Vicki Medlin enjoyed thirty years as a public school educator. Certified in grades K-12, she taught physical, biological, and earth science in grades 6 -9 and reading, math, science, social studies and art in grades 2-5. Vicki participated in single grade classrooms, as well as in multiage, looping, and inclusion settings. She was a finalist for Teacher of the Year in Norman, OK, and she was one of three principle writers for a successful Blue Ribbon School application. Vicki also served in a leadership position in aligning national science standards with state and local curriculum guidelines.
From 2004-2006, Vicki served two years as Regional Coordinator for Schools Attuned in Oklahoma and the All Kinds of Minds Institute at the University of North Carolina. She worked with administrators and teachers providing yearlong professional development in identifying successful strategies for students who struggle in school.
Vicki is presently a member of the cohort for a Master’s in Education and Community renewal. Her special interests include science as inquiry, differentiation of instruction, and adult learning.
