Tim has taught four years of secondary school science. During that time, he has served on a number of committees and has been nominated numerous times by his science students and colleagues for several awards. Since 1996, Tim has had the opportunity at OU of working as a graduate research assistant, university supervisor for student teachers, graduate teaching assistant, and instructor in science and engineering education. Tim currently teaches undergraduate and graduate science education courses and a graduate engineering education course. Tim has also served on several committees while at OU, including the Elementary Education Certification Committee, the Technology Education Committee, the Science Certification Committee, and the Higher Education Representative on Resident Teacher Committees. During his post-secondary career, Tim has authored nine peer-reviewed publications on science and engineering education, presented thirteen invited talks on inquiry, prepared three poster presentations, and provided eleven presentations at professional meetings in science education. In 2006, Tim received the Young Scholar Award from the College of Education at the University of Oklahoma.
