Jean Cate, Ph.D.
Jean McGregor Cate, Ph.D., has been an educator for over thirty years, serving as a science teacher, principal, technology coordinator and curriculum director. As a biology teacher, she initiated and co-directed the biology curriculum development project. She has served as elementary science consultant, co-director of the middle school science curriculum project and the ninth grade science curriculum project. Ms. Cate has authored and directed many grant projects. After serving as a principal, Ms. Cate served as Director of Curriculum for Norman schools. She was the lead trainer for teacher leadership cadres in learning, assessment and applications of learning. She has supervised principals and directors and conducted numerous administrative workshops for school improvement, curriculum alignment, leadership and supervision. Currently, she serves as an Associate Director of the K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal and co-directs the K20 Center’s OK-ACTS (Oklahoma’s- Achievement through Collaboration and Technology Support): A former Bill and Melinda Gates State Leadership and current Oklahoma Educational Technology Trust (OETT) partnership. She directs the academic and university programs for the K20 Center, including the Interdisciplinary Masters of Art with emphasis in Educational and Community Renewal.
