Janis Slater

Janis Slater is the director of the Oklahoma Science PDI.  She has 15 years of experience teaching middle school science.  She received a B.S. in microbiology from the University of Arizona and obtained teacher certification through the University of Oklahoma science education program.  Janis is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in instructional technology at OU.  Her interests in the field of education include pedagogy and instructional design.  She enthusiastically advocates authentic classroom instruction and appreciates the opportunity to work with teachers in the K20 Center network to improve science instruction through the use of inquiry.
